The Kano State Security Neighbourhood Watch Corps has arrested two men over the alleged removal and theft of metal fences installed around Kofar Nasarawa Bridge in Kano Municipal.

The suspects, identified as Abba Aminu, 30, and Yusha’u Nasiru, 26, were arrested at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, during an operation by the corps’ Kano Municipal Command.

The corps’ Deputy Commander-General, Major Adamu Abubakar (retd.), disclosed the arrests while presenting the suspects to the public, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by its Director of Public Enlightenment, Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim.

Abubakar said vandalism and theft of public infrastructure caused financial losses and could threaten public safety. He added that the suspects would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.

He urged residents to report suspicious activities to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation was essential to protecting government property and preventing crime.
