The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate operating along the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)–Nasarawa border.
Police spokesperson, Anietie Iniedu, said the suspects, Buhari Adamu (25) and Abubakar Saidu (28), were arrested during intelligence-led operations carried out between June 24 and 26 in Gbagalape (FCT) and Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
According to the police, the suspects are linked to several kidnappings, killings, and violent attacks in communities along the FCT–Nasarawa axis, including a deadly assault on Gbagalape on May 16, 2026, where multiple residents were abducted and others killed.
Following the arrests, operatives raided the gang’s hideout in Gbagalape Hills, recovering one AK-47 rifle, 22 rounds of live ammunition, and livestock believed to be proceeds of crime.
Police said the suspects are assisting ongoing investigations, while efforts continue to track down other members of the syndicate.
Recent operations across the region highlight intensified security efforts, with authorities increasingly relying on intelligence-led tactics to combat kidnapping and violent crime.
