Troops Foil Abduction, Rescue Two in Zamfara

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued two people from suspected terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The incident occurred on September 4, 2026, when the victims were reportedly attacked while travelling on a motorcycle.

According to an account of the incident, troops of Sector 2 conducting a routine patrol spotted the attackers and immediately moved to the scene.

The intervention forced the suspected terrorists to flee into the surrounding area, abandoning the two victims, who were subsequently rescued by the troops.

Security forces have since intensified patrols along the route to deter further attacks and restrict the movement of terrorists and other criminal elements.

The development comes amid sustained military operations in Zamfara, where troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have continued to rescue abducted civilians and disrupt terrorist activities. Earlier in September, troops rescued 23 abducted civilians in Anka LGA, including 20 women and three men.
