President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting following Adeleke’s re-election.
Adeleke arrived at the Villa around 5:25pm, accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. He proceeded to the President’s office for the meeting.
The meeting was Adeleke’s first with Tinubu since he secured a second term in the August 15 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party.
Adeleke was declared the winner after polling 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
Tinubu had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his victory and urged him to unite Osun residents irrespective of their political affiliations.
Several Osun officials also accompanied the governor to the Villa, including the Director-General of his campaign council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, and the state Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem.
