The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Tinubu listens to Nigerians and considers their feedback when reviewing government policies.
Idris stated this on Tuesday in Abuja when he received a delegation from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), led by its Director-General, Prof. Ayo Omotayo.
The minister said his ministry serves as a two-way communication channel, explaining that it not only informs Nigerians about government policies but also conveys citizens’ concerns and opinions to the administration.
“Whenever I sit with him, the first question he asks is, ‘What are Nigerians saying?’” Idris said.
He added that the National Orientation Agency’s nationwide network of more than 800 offices enables the government to gather feedback directly from farmers, artisans, and other Nigerians.
Idris also pledged the ministry’s support for NIPSS’s research into the creative or “Orange Economy,” which is the focus of the institute’s Senior Executive Course 48.
Omotayo said the study would examine the sector’s challenges and opportunities and its potential to drive economic growth and reduce unemployment. NIPSS has also announced plans for a National Summit and Exhibition on the Orange Economy scheduled for October 6–8, 2026, in Lagos.
The NIPSS course focuses on using the creative economy and entrepreneurship to promote sustainable development, with areas including music, film, fashion, tourism, media, and digital innovation.
