Three Suspects Held in London Killing of British-Nigerian Artist

Police in London have detained three individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of British-Nigerian artiste, Mark Orabiyi, as authorities continue a murder investigation.

The 35-year-old was reportedly attacked at a residential address on Rayleigh Road on Friday, where he sustained multiple knife wounds.

Emergency services responded promptly following reports of a disturbance, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after efforts to revive him failed.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police said they discovered Orabiyi with critical injuries in the property’s garden upon arrival alongside paramedics.

Although formal identification procedures are still pending, police confirmed that the deceased has been identified, and specialist officers are supporting his family.

In a statement, relatives described him as a beloved son and friend whose life left a lasting impression on those around him.

Authorities disclosed that two men and a woman were taken into custody shortly after the incident. A 27-year-old suspect has since been granted bail pending further inquiries, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released without charge.

Police also confirmed that a second victim, a 20-year-old man, suffered stab injuries during the attack but is currently receiving treatment, with his condition not considered life-threatening.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the case, described the incident as deeply distressing and appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.
