Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has been named executive music producer and curator for the upcoming fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone, where she will also contribute three original songs.
The announcement was made at the film’s trailer launch event in New York City, where director Gina Prince-Bythewood confirmed Tems’ role in shaping the movie’s soundtrack. Burna Boy will serve as the project’s executive music consultant.
Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, later confirmed the development on X, noting that the singer has recorded three brand-new tracks for the film.
The update comes shortly after the release of the film’s first official trailer, which also gave fans a glimpse of Nigerian singer Ayra Starr in her acting debut.
Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, Children of Blood and Bone features a star-studded cast including Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr, and Damson Idris.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film is set for theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
