Nigerian film critic Tolu Fagbure has claimed that actress Tayo Sobola, popularly known as Sotayogaga, has lost some acting opportunities because of her permanent tattoo.

Fagbure made the remarks while discussing the importance of professional training and discipline in an actor’s career during an interview with Dele Adeyanju on Agbaletu TV.
According to him, Sobola’s visible tattoo could limit her ability to portray certain characters, particularly roles requiring her to appear as a responsible housewife or child.
He argued that actors should avoid permanent physical features that cannot be altered to suit different movie roles.
“Tayo Sobola should be trained. That lady is trainable,” Fagbure said, adding that her insistence on wearing outfits that expose the tattoo could further affect the roles available to her.
He maintained that professional actors should be mindful of body markings, piercings and other permanent features that may restrict their versatility on screen.
Fagbure’s comments come shortly after he also drew attention for his criticism of actress Eniola Ajao’s acting ability, remarks to which Ajao publicly responded, saying she would continue to work and let audiences judge her career.
