Fans of pop star Taylor Swift have spent $25 each on pieces of street litter collected outside a high-profile wedding event linked to the singer and NFL player Travis Kelce.
New York artist Justin Gignac gathered the items from streets around Madison Square Garden, where a celebrity-filled celebration reportedly took place last week. The collection included cigarette butts, bottle caps, straws, utensils, a single AirPod, and even an ovulation test kit.
Gignac packaged each item in a sealed plastic cube and listed them as “sculptures” on his website. All 50 items sold out within 24 hours, generating about $1,250 in revenue.
He said the project was intended to capture a “cultural moment” and appeal to fans seeking a symbolic connection to the event. Some items were tied into knots as a nod to the wedding theme.
The artist clarified that all materials were collected from outside security barriers, not from inside the venue.
The event drew intense interest from Swift’s global fan base, with crowds gathering in New York in hopes of catching a glimpse of the singer. The celebration has been widely described as one of the most closely followed celebrity events of the year.
