The Sokoto State Government has vowed to intensify efforts against terrorists and other criminal groups following a deadly attack on communities in Kebbe Local Government Area.
The government also provided N9 million in financial support to families of victims and survivors of the attack.
A delegation led by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, delivered the assistance on Saturday on the directive of Governor Ahmad Aliyu.
Eight families who lost relatives received N1 million each, while four injured victims shared N1 million. Food items, including rice, millet, and maize, were also distributed.
Maihulla said the government shared the pain of the affected communities and assured residents of stronger measures to tackle insecurity.
He said Governor Aliyu would continue to support security agencies with vehicles, logistics, and other resources to strengthen operations against terrorists.
Chairman of Kebbe Local Government, Musa Garba Kuchi, commended the governor for the intervention, describing it as timely and compassionate.
Parts of Sokoto State have continued to face attacks by terrorists and other criminal groups, with rural communities among the hardest hit.
