Veteran Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has said any future support she gives to a politician would be motivated by financial survival rather than political loyalty.

The actress made the comment during an appearance on the digital talk show Africa A-List, in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
Speaking to her fans, Oshodi said they should not criticize her if they see her campaigning for a politician, explaining that she would simply be seeking an opportunity to earn money.
“My people, if you ever see me standing behind a politician, just know Ronke wants to eat,” she said. “She is looking for something to put food on her table. Try to understand and don’t drag me.”
Her remarks have sparked conversations about the relationship between Nigerian entertainers and political campaigns, particularly the financial pressures that can influence celebrities’ participation in political activities.
During the same interview, Oshodi also spoke about a past health challenge, revealing that she once spent as much as N800,000 monthly on medication and received financial support from some colleagues.
