Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, have officially tied the knot after nearly a decade together.
The couple married on Tuesday, August 11, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, a coastal town near Lisbon, Portugal, according to Ronaldo’s management team. The ceremony was described as a private and intimate event attended by their five children.
Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing a photo of the couple’s hands showing their wedding rings alongside the caption, “C❤️G.”
The wedding came exactly one year after Rodríguez announced their engagement on Instagram. The couple began their relationship in 2016 after meeting while Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
The ceremony ended days of speculation over the wedding venue. Portuguese media had reported that the couple could marry in Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace, or Sintra, but they ultimately chose Cascais, where they own a home.
Ronaldo recently represented Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his sixth appearance at the tournament, before the team’s elimination. He currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr and is a five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Rodríguez, a model and social media personality, has also built a global profile through her Netflix series I Am Georgina, which follows her family life, fashion career, and travels.
The couple’s marriage marks the latest chapter in one of football’s most prominent celebrity relationships.
