Barcelona midfielder Rodri has defended Manchester City’s achievements, insisting that the club’s success cannot be erased despite reports that it was found guilty of 114 of 115 Premier League financial charges.
An independent commission reportedly reached its decision on Friday, with sanctions yet to be determined. Manchester City have consistently denied the allegations and are expected to appeal.
Rodri, who spent seven years at City before joining Barcelona, said he continues to believe in the club and its players.
“When you live daily in that club and see all the people who worked hard over the years to achieve all the success we had, what we did, they cannot take it out of us,” Rodri said.
He added that the club’s success was built through effort and teamwork and said he was proud to have been part of what he described as “one of the best eras in English football.”
Rodri also said he believes in the justice system and City’s claim of innocence, noting that the club had previously gone through a similar legal process in 2020.
