Nigerian singer Raheem Okoya, popularly known as SirRaheem, has announced his decision to stop releasing new music.
The 23-year-old singer and son of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya made the announcement in a statement shared on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Raheem said his music journey, which began as a hobby with friends, grew into a professional career that gave him opportunities to perform at major events and meet artists he admired.
However, he said balancing music with his other commitments had become increasingly difficult.
“Over the past year, holding that alongside my other commitments has grown harder,” he said, adding that he no longer felt able to give music the “effort, patience, and dedication it truly deserves.”
He therefore decided to make what he described as a “professional exit” from the industry.
Despite stepping away from releasing new music, Raheem said his creative journey is not over. He plans to explore other creative ventures and suggested that his unreleased album could still be released in the future.
“Music still remains therapeutic for me,” he said, adding that he believes he has some of the best material of his career yet to be released.
Raheem is also the executive director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited, a company owned by his father. In February, he said he had spent about a decade learning from and shadowing his father in preparation for his role in the family business.
His latest announcement marks a shift from his music career towards business and other creative pursuits, although he has left the door open for a possible return to music.
