Qing Madi vs Joy Tongo: Singer Makes Explosive Fraud Allegations

Afrobeats singer Qing Madi has levelled serious allegations against her former record label boss, Joy Tongo, accusing her of forging her signature and misappropriating funds.

The claims were made during a TikTok livestream, where the singer also alleged that her former label, JTOn Music, was deliberately attempting to undermine her career by removing songs from her latest project, Barely Legal, from streaming platforms over an alleged contractual breach.

Qing Madi further stated that the label’s actions followed a legal dispute in which she claims to have prevailed in a $2 million lawsuit filed against her.

According to the singer, some of the affected tracks, including “Pepper Me,” were taken down despite efforts by her team to challenge what she described as unlawful actions.

She appealed to fans and the public to speak out against what she termed ongoing injustice, adding that the situation had become emotionally draining.

In response, Joy Tongo denied all allegations, describing them as false and misleading. She maintained that the legal case referenced by Qing Madi remains unresolved and has not yet proceeded to trial.

Tongo also clarified that an existing court injunction grants the label the authority to request takedowns of the singer’s music, disputing Qing Madi’s claim of victory in the legal battle.
