A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Edo State party chairman, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, has died at the age of 64.
Orbih died on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to a statement issued by his family.
The former PDP National Vice Chairman for the South-South was also a close political ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Before his death, Orbih served as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Wike, while mourning the late politician, described him as a true friend and committed political ally.
Orbih was born on October 27, 1961, in Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, two children, siblings and other family members. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
