Lola Omotayo-Okoye, wife of singer Peter Okoye, has reacted after receiving an outpouring of support and apologies from Nigerians over her alleged role in the long-running P-Square family feud.
For years, Lola had been accused by some members of the public of contributing to the rift between Peter and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
However, public opinion shifted after Peter recently shared a series of videos detailing his version of the family dispute, including allegations of financial misconduct involving his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye. Jude has since denied the allegations, saying the matter is before the court.
Peter’s revelations also reignited discussions about Lola’s relationship with the Okoye family, with many Nigerians taking to social media to apologise to her and praise her for standing by her husband. Peter later made further claims about how Lola was allegedly treated by some members of his family.
Reacting in an Instagram post on Monday, Lola thanked those who had shown her support and encouraged women not to allow public opinion to define them.
She said she remained focused on her responsibilities, strength and purpose, adding, “I can’t look away from my responsibilities.”
“I love you all,” she added.
