Ondo Women Back Tinubu’s Second Term, Target Massive Votes

Hundreds of women from the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday launched a grassroots mobilization campaign in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general election.

At a rally held in Akure, the state capital, the group pledged to secure at least 500,000 votes from women across the state for the APC presidential ticket.

Speaking at the event, Olamide Falana, Women Leader of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, said mobilization efforts had already begun across communities, wards, and polling units.

She noted that women from all 203 wards in the state were represented at the rally, adding that outreach had extended to over 1,500 polling units.

Falana emphasized the importance of grassroots engagement, stating that the group would intensify door-to-door campaigns, market visits, and community outreach to boost support for the president.

She said the women were motivated by what they described as the administration’s achievements and were committed to delivering strong electoral support in 2027.

Also speaking, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, said the rally was both an endorsement of the president and an expression of appreciation for his performance in office.

He added that women play a critical role in voter mobilization and expressed confidence that the state could surpass previous election results, projecting over one million votes for the APC in the next presidential election.
