Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has criticized what she described as Nigeria’s growing culture of begging, urging citizens to embrace hard work and avoid a sense of entitlement.
Speaking on a recent episode of Activating Success With Love Idoko, the actress said people should recognise that nobody owes them anything and that everyone has needs, regardless of their financial status.
Omotola said she does not encourage begging, arguing that everyone has something valuable to contribute to society.
She acknowledged that people face different challenges but advised Nigerians to resort to begging only in desperate, life-threatening situations.
The actress also warned that begging out of entitlement could undermine a person’s self-worth, urging people to seek ways to work and contribute rather than depend on others.
