NIPR Inducts Eavesdrop Communication Services Ltd CEO, Engr. Egwuatu-Elem

The Chief Executive Officer, Eavesdrop Communication Services Limited, Engr. Ikenna Egwuatu-Elem, has been inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, in what stakeholders describe as a reflection of the evolving role of communication professionals in shaping national narratives.

The induction ceremony, held on March 19, 2026, at Bolingo Hotel, formed part of the Institute’s first quarter programme which saw hundreds of practitioners formally admitted into the profession.

President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ike Neliaku, charged newly inducted members to take responsibility for repositioning Nigeria’s global image through credible and strategic communication. He noted that the country’s reputation challenges require deliberate, coordinated efforts from professionals, stressing that perception plays a critical role in national development.

Neliaku further urged practitioners to move beyond routine media engagement and embrace a more strategic role in shaping narratives that reflect Nigeria’s strengths and opportunities. He emphasized that trust and credibility remain the foundation of effective public relations, warning that misinformation and weak messaging could undermine national progress.

Also speaking, NIPR Vice President, Emmanuel Dandaura, highlighted the global relevance of the profession, noting that membership of the Institute confers international recognition and aligns practitioners with global standards across more than 100 countries.

Observers say Engr. Egwuatu-Elem’s induction underscores the increasing importance of multidisciplinary expertise, particularly the fusion of technical knowledge and strategic communication in addressing complex societal and institutional challenges.

During an interview with journalists at the end of the event, Engr. Egwuatu-Elem reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the public relations profession, pledging to uphold ethical standards while leveraging communication as a tool for value creation, stakeholder engagement, and national development.
