Super Eagles striker Akor Adams says Nigeria will approach Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau with confidence as they seek a second consecutive victory.
Nigeria opened their Group L campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Madagascar in Uyo, while Guinea-Bissau defeated co-hosts Tanzania 2-0 away from home. Both sides therefore have three points heading into the clash in Bissau.
Adams, who started against Madagascar, said the Super Eagles are targeting maximum points in every game.
“We want to win all our games, and the Guinea-Bissau game is no different. We’re going there full of confidence, hoping to get the three points,” he told Footy-Africa.
The Venezia forward also expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to secure qualification for the 2027 AFCON.
“I trust this team, and together we’re going to fight to bring glory to Nigeria and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” Adams added.
The match will take place at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time. Tanzania is already guaranteed a place at the tournament as co-hosts, leaving Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Madagascar competing for the group’s remaining qualifying spot.
