The Lagos State Government has approved the harmonized academic calendar for the 2026/2027 school year, covering all public and private primary and secondary schools.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, after consultations with education stakeholders coordinated by the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA).
The calendar outlines key dates for school resumption, mid-term breaks, examinations, and holidays, providing a uniform schedule for schools, teachers, parents, and students across the state.
Officials said the timetable was finalized after a series of stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment across the education sector.
The government noted that the unified calendar is aimed at improving coordination and maintaining standards in the school system and directed all schools to comply strictly with the schedule.
