Nasarawa United Celebrate Four U-23 Call-Ups

Nasarawa United have expressed delight after four of their players received invitations to Nigeria’s U-23 national team ahead of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Democratic Republic of Congo in November.

The invited players are goalkeeper Onu Olughu Chinemerem, defender Alfred Odinaka, attacking midfielder Umar Mohammed, and winger Jofrank Joshua.

The club’s chairman, Solomon Babanjah, said the call-ups reflected the players’ hard work, discipline, professionalism, and consistent performances.

Speaking to the club’s media, Babanjah described the invitations as a source of pride, noting that the selection of four players highlighted Nasarawa United’s role in developing football talent.

He expressed confidence that the players would represent the club and Nasarawa State well at the national team camp.

Babanjah also wished the players success in camp and in their international assignments.

Further reports confirm that Nasarawa United goalkeeper coach Olatunji Abideen Baruwa was also invited to the Olympic Eagles camp, making it five club representatives in total. The first leg against DR Congo is scheduled for November 13 in Lubumbashi, with the return leg on November 17 in Ikenne, Ogun State.
