The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone A, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor Radda for the 2027 general elections.
The students made their position known on Thursday when NANS leaders and representatives of student unions staged a solidarity walk to the Katsina Government House in support of the two leaders.
Receiving the students, Governor Radda thanked them for the endorsement and pledged to sustain his administration’s support for education and youth development.
Governor Radda described President Tinubu as a “student-friendly President,” citing federal initiatives aimed at expanding access to higher education, particularly for students from less-privileged backgrounds.
He also said his administration would continue to prioritize education and student welfare, noting that he attended public schools throughout his education.
“I am a product of public education, and I will continue to do everything humanly possible to support students to have opportunities to become what they aspire to be,” Governor Radda said.
The governor urged the students to remain united, support government efforts to tackle insecurity and, after graduation, help younger Nigerians access opportunities.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters, Muhammad Nuhu Nagaske, commended the students for organizing the solidarity walk, describing it as an avenue for networking, learning, and promoting unity.
Also speaking, NANS North-West Secretary Lawal Isah said students in Katsina had benefited from the state government’s education policies, including bursaries, scholarships, improved school infrastructure, and better learning facilities.
Isah presented letters endorsing Governor Radda for re-election and President Tinubu for continuity in 2027.
He described Governor Radda as a student-friendly governor and pledged continued student support for programs focused on education, youth development, and economic opportunities.
The event was attended by senior Katsina State government officials and representatives of student associations and tertiary institutions across the state.
