‘My Money Built Dapper’ — Seyi Vibez Makes Fresh Allegations

Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has reignited his dispute with music executive Dapper Music, alleging that his money helped build the executive’s business and fund the signing of other artists.

The singer made the claims in a series of posts on X while reacting to the ongoing controversy surrounding Dapper Music and some artists associated with the label.

Seyi Vibez alleged that proceeds from artists’ music catalogues were being used for personal purposes, making a controversial reference to celebrity chef Hilda Baci.

“Na Hilda Baci BBL all una catalogue money dey go,” he wrote.

He also claimed that he once became seriously ill after eating food he said was given to him by Dapper Music and associated with Hilda Baci.

The singer further alleged that his earnings were used to sign other artists on Dapper Music’s roster.

“I’m bigger than the whole Dapper and his entire generation. And my money was the money being used to sign all the artists he signed,” Seyi Vibez said.

He added, “I made Dapper.”

Seyi Vibez also accused the music executive of taking advantage of artists working with him while expressing concern for those who remain associated with the label.

The latest comments come nearly two years after Seyi Vibez parted ways with Dapper Music and began presenting himself as an independent artist. Reports at the time linked the split to an apparent fallout, although neither party publicly provided detailed reasons for the separation.

The allegations made by Seyi Vibez have not been independently verified, and Dapper Music had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of reporting.
