Nigerian actress and disc jockey Dorcas Shola Fapson, popularly known as Ms DSF, has advised financially struggling people against having children they cannot afford to raise.

Speaking on a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, Fapson argued that having children without the financial means to care for them could place an unfair burden on both the children and their parents.
She cited the experience of a cousin with five children who, according to her, has struggled financially and frequently seeks assistance for school fees and feeding.
“Poor people shouldn’t have kids. I don’t think it is fair to the children. It is not fair to the family. It is not fair to you,” she said.
Fapson added that although she grew up in a financially modest household, she had resolved not to raise children in similar circumstances.
She urged prospective parents to consider their financial capacity before having children.
