Nigerian singer Abiye Jumbo, popularly known as Mr 2Kay, has alleged that his former record label gave him only N2 million from the N10 million compensation paid by Eko Hotel and Suites following a 2017 robbery attack on him.

The singer made the revelation during a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, saying the way the compensation was handled prompted him to leave the label.
“Eko Hotel later compensated me with N10 million, but my record label gave me only N2 million out of it. So, I left the record label,” he said, recalling the incident.
Mr 2Kay was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in his hotel room on October 22, 2017, after performing at the Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless concert in Lagos.
The incident triggered a police investigation, during which four suspects were arrested, including Joel Kantiok, identified as Burna Boy’s road manager. Burna Boy was subsequently investigated and arraigned in December 2017 over alleged involvement in the case. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Mr 2Kay later said he had accepted Burna Boy’s apology, and the pair were seen together at a Lagos nightclub in 2021.
The singer has since ventured into music executive work, describing the business as lucrative.
