Jose Mourinho has arrived in Spain to complete the formalities of his appointment as head coach of Real Madrid, marking a return to the club more than a decade after his first stint.
The 63-year-old had already reached an initial agreement with club president Florentino Perez ahead of the club’s recent presidential election, which Perez won, clearing the path for Mourinho’s comeback.
Mourinho is expected to sign a three-year contract before being officially introduced to the media.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development, stating that the Portuguese coach is in Madrid to complete the deal and begin his new role.
In preparation for the new season, the club has strengthened its squad with the acquisitions of defenders Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries from Liverpool and Inter Milan respectively.
