Manchester City are facing concerns over Erling Haaland’s fitness after the striker limped off during Norway’s 2-1 defeat to Portugal in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.

Haaland asked to be substituted in the 67th minute and was replaced by Jørgen Strand Larsen. He walked off without assistance and later remained on the substitutes’ bench, but his condition will be assessed by Manchester City’s medical team.
The 26-year-old had played every minute of Norway’s previous three matches during the international break, scoring twice in a 3-2 win over Denmark before netting in the 2-1 defeat to Portugal in their earlier meeting.
The injury concern comes less than a week before City’s Premier League trip to Liverpool at Anfield on October 11.
Haaland has been in impressive form for City this season, scoring seven goals in seven appearances across all competitions, including five in the Premier League.
City could also be without Phil Foden, who is suspended, while Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo are doubts for the Anfield clash.
Norway manager Ståle Solbakken has played down concerns over Haaland’s early exit, saying the striker’s minutes had been planned because of his workload. However, City will await further medical checks before determining his availability.
