The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has declared the appointment letter presented by its self-acclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, as fake.
Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja during the ongoing probe. He said multiple agencies, including the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, confirmed the documents submitted by Adeyemi were not authentic.
“The so-called appointment letter was fake, and the Act presented was also forged,” Gagdi stated.
The Head of the Civil Service, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who appeared before the panel for the second time, corroborated the findings, affirming that the documents did not originate from any recognized government process.
Security officials, including representatives of the Inspector-General of Police, were also present at the hearing.
Adeyemi, however, failed to appear before the committee as of the time of filing this report, despite an earlier directive ordering the police to produce him within 48 hours.
The committee had previously described the PFIPC as an illegally constituted body, raising concerns over its operations and legitimacy.
