Former Atlético Madrid captain Diego Godín has named Federico Valverde as the Real Madrid player he would sign for Atlético.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of the Madrid derby, Godín picked his fellow Uruguayan and praised his versatility and character.
“Which Real Madrid player would I sign for Atlético? Fede Valverde,” Godín said.
“He can play all positions on the pitch and is also a humble guy. He has a lot of Atleti DNA.”
Valverde joined Real Madrid from Uruguayan club Peñarol in 2016 and made his first-team debut in 2018. He has since won multiple major honors, including three LaLiga titles and two Champions League trophies.
