‘God Has Spoken’ — Diezani Alison-Madueke Reacts After Court Victory

Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has responded to her acquittal by a court in London, describing the outcome as a moment of deep gratitude after years of legal uncertainty.

The Southwark Crown Court in the United Kingdom dismissed all allegations against her, including multiple counts of bribery and conspiracy related to corruption claims.

Speaking in an interview, the former minister said the prolonged case, which lasted over a decade, placed significant emotional strain on her and her loved ones. She noted that she had remained in the United Kingdom throughout the duration of the proceedings.

Alison-Madueke explained that the experience affected not only her personally but also members of her family, including her elderly mother and her son, describing the period as deeply challenging.

Reflecting on the verdict, she expressed appreciation for what she described as divine intervention, stating that she remained confident throughout the process that justice would prevail.

She also maintained that she carried out her responsibilities in public office to the best of her ability.
