FIFA Rankings: Argentina Unshaken at the Top, Nigeria Remain 26th

Argentina have retained their position at the summit of the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, reaffirming their dominance in international football ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The reigning world champions maintained their lead following a string of strong performances in recent fixtures. Spain occupy second place after a steady run of results, while France sit third despite a mixed set of outcomes.

England and Portugal round out the top five, with Brazil placed sixth.

Nigeria remain 26th in the global standings, holding their position after a combination of positive and less convincing performances in recent matches.

The Super Eagles recorded victories over Zimbabwe and Jamaica at the Unity Cup in London but were later held to a 2-2 draw by Poland before losing 2-1 to Portugal in a friendly encounter.

Morocco continue to lead Africa in the rankings, climbing to seventh place globally and extending their impressive run on the international stage.

The updated rankings come as focus gradually shifts toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, and will feature an expanded format of 48 teams.
