The father of Nigerian musician Afunso Ridwan Abiola, popularly known as Rolex Dee, has died shortly after reports emerged that the singer was critically ill in police detention.

According to a video circulating on social media on Sunday, Rolex Dee’s mother announced that the deceased passed away days after learning that his son had been vomiting blood while in custody.
Speaking during the funeral, she expressed grief over both incidents, stating that her son was unable to attend his father’s burial. She also appealed to authorities and the public for help in securing his release, alleging that he had not received proper medical care despite his condition.
Rolex Dee was reportedly arrested following a dispute involving Fuji musician Taye Currency. The conflict arose after a fallout in which the singer allegedly revealed sensitive information about the Fuji star.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the police regarding the singer’s health condition or detention status.
