The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspects over a farmer-herder clash in Guda Village, Ningi Local Government Area, which left one person dead and several houses burnt.

The incident occurred on September 23, 2026, after three farmers allegedly confronted a herder whose cattle were destroying their crops on Guda Hill.
The confrontation escalated into a fight, leaving the three farmers injured. Police said youths from the village later retaliated by setting fire to houses in the herders’ settlement.
One of the injured farmers, identified as 40-year-old Usman Jibrin, later died while receiving treatment at General Hospital, Ningi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the four suspects were arrested on October 8 following intelligence-led operations. They are being investigated for criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, arson and culpable homicide.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu ordered the suspects’ transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation.
He urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully and warned against taking the law into their own hands.
