Nigerian football fans have criticised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after he angrily confronted his teammate, Ademola Lookman, during Nigeria’s 4–0 win over Mozambique in the AFCON round of 16 on Monday.

The incident happened in the 63rd minute when Lookman missed a scoring chance, even though Osimhen was in a good position to receive the ball. Cameras caught Osimhen shouting at Lookman in frustration.
Before that moment, Lookman had already created two chances for Osimhen — one led directly to a goal, while the other came through Akor Adams.
In the video, Osimhen was seen pulling away from captain Wilfred Ndidi, pointing angrily at Lookman, and shouting at him. He was also heard saying in pidgin, “No try am again,” meaning “Don’t do that again.”
Shortly after the incident, Osimhen asked to be substituted. As he left the pitch and Moses Simon replaced him, some fans booed the striker.
Despite the drama, Osimhen scored two goals in the match. Lookman also had an impressive performance, scoring one goal and providing two assists, as Nigeria secured their fourth straight win of the tournament to reach the quarter-finals.
The Super Eagles will now face either Algeria or DR Congo in the last eight as they continue their search for their first AFCON title since 2013.
