Nigeria’s D’Tigress have ended their 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup campaign with a heavy 111–56 defeat to France in their final Group B game in Berlin, Germany.

The loss was Nigeria’s third consecutive defeat at the tournament, following earlier losses to South Korea and Hungary, leaving the African champions at the bottom of the group and eliminated.
France dominated from the start, taking a 31–13 lead in the first quarter before extending the advantage to 65–26 at half-time.
The French side continued their dominance after the break, outscoring Nigeria 30–13 in the third quarter. D’Tigress improved slightly in the final period but could only manage 17 points as France closed out a 55-point victory.
France also made 22 three-pointers, setting a new Women’s World Cup record.
The result brings Nigeria’s World Cup campaign to an end without a win.
