Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko says she has sworn off betting after losing ₦5 million on the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
Etiko disclosed this in an Instagram post on Monday, shortly after the final match between Spain national team and Argentina national team.
“First time betting and I lost… Will never try it again. My 5M gone,” she wrote, adding that the experience left her anxious.
The actress did not reveal details of the bet but had earlier indicated support for Argentina through posts shared during the match. As the game progressed, she expressed frustration with the team’s performance while praising goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
Spain went on to defeat Argentina 1–0 after extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring the winning goal. Argentina were reduced to 10 men after Enzo Fernández received a red card late in the match.
The victory secured Spain’s second World Cup title, their first since 2010.
