Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed the longstanding relationship between his family and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote.
Davido said Dangote has been close to his family for decades and has advised him on managing money since childhood.
Speaking during a recent interview, the singer recalled that Dangote drove his mother home from the hospital after she gave birth to him.
“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” he said.
Davido added that the billionaire has consistently advised him to save his money whenever they meet.
“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” he said.
The singer also described Dangote as a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, saying the relationship between the two families has lasted for decades.
Davido said Dangote’s financial advice has remained relevant as he built his career and managed his wealth in the entertainment industry.
