Coach Lara Don-Momoh Dies Weeks After Welcoming First Child

Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, widely known as Coach Lara, has died just two weeks after welcoming her first child with her husband, Teddy Don-Momoh.

Her family confirmed the development in a statement posted on her official Instagram page, noting that she passed away peacefully after a brief illness.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend,” the statement read.

The family requested privacy as they mourn and asked for prayers for her soul and strength during the grieving period. Funeral arrangements, they added, will be announced later.

Lara’s death comes shortly after the couple celebrated the birth of their child, a milestone that had drawn widespread goodwill on social media.

Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to late gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 following a lung-related illness.

The family also expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support received since the announcement.
