Nollywood actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, popularly known as Cjay Nwoks, has died.
The actor died on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at a hospital in the Badore area of Lagos State.
His death was announced by actress and filmmaker Nkechi Blessing, who was with him at the hospital. In an emotional Instagram video, Blessing said she had cancelled the release of her movie, Egusi Ogbono, in which Cjay played the lead role.
The film was scheduled to premiere at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Right now, I’m in the hospital in Badore. I just lost Cjay. Cjay is dead. I don’t even know how to start,” the actress said while crying.
Blessing later revealed that she had spoken with Cjay earlier that morning, hours before his death.
Cjay, who began his professional acting career in 2021, featured in several Nollywood productions, including Larry Cold, Mum Overnight, A Day to My Wedding, The Lies She Tells, and What Time Left.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death had not been disclosed, while details of his funeral arrangements were also unavailable.
