Chelsea have confirmed that academy graduates Reggie Walsh and Katie Cox will leave the club on loan for the 2026/27 season.

The Blues announced the moves in separate statements on Wednesday, with Walsh joining League One side Wigan Athletic and goalkeeper Cox moving to Nottingham Forest.
Walsh, a midfielder, joined Chelsea as an under-eight and made his senior debut at just 16 years and 193 days. The 17-year-old will now gain regular first-team experience at Wigan.
Cox, meanwhile, has signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea before joining Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan. The goalkeeper has been with the club since she was eight and progressed through its academy system.
Cox won the FA Youth Cup in 2022 and was named Chelsea Women’s Academy Player of the Year in 2024. She spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Aberdeen before returning to Chelsea.
The two moves are part of Chelsea’s continued strategy of giving promising young players regular senior football to aid their development.
