Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma has stated that he views divorce as a positive outcome in certain circumstances, noting that it can offer relief to individuals in troubled relationships.
Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show, the entertainer said he tends to celebrate separations because they often indicate that one or both partners were experiencing hardship within the marriage.
According to him, ending an unhealthy union can provide freedom and emotional relief for those involved.
Bovi emphasised that while he supports the idea of divorce in such situations, it should not be misunderstood as a dismissal of the challenges that come with long-term relationships.
He noted that his own marriage has not been without difficulties, revealing that he has been married for 17 years since tying the knot at the age of 29.
The comedian added that despite the ups and downs, he has consistently fulfilled his responsibilities within the marriage.
He maintained that remaining in a toxic relationship is less desirable than choosing separation when necessary.
