APC Chairman Abducted as Gunmen Strike Kano

Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, following a fresh attack on Beli village.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the community in the early hours of Tuesday, firing sporadically before breaking into the home of the APC chairman, Alhaji Audu Fanka Salisu Yahaya, and taking him away.

A resident was reportedly killed during the attack, while others sustained gunshot injuries.

The incident came after similar attacks in parts of Kano State in recent days. Three people were killed and a traditional title holder abducted in Chiromawa, Garun Malam LGA, while two people, including APC ward chairman Garba Buba, were killed in Rantan, Bebeji LGA. Police have confirmed an investigation into the Rantan attack.

Security agencies have yet to officially comment on the reported attack in Beli or confirm Yahaya’s abduction.
