The United States Africa Command says it has conducted additional joint military strikes with Nigerian authorities targeting fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria in northeastern Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Monday, AFRICOM said the coordinated operations involved precision strikes on identified ISIS locations, stressing that no United States or Nigerian personnel were injured during the missions.
The command noted that intelligence reports confirmed the targets were active ISIS militants, adding that further assessments of the operation are ongoing.
According to AFRICOM, the strikes are part of sustained efforts to weaken the group’s operational capacity and disrupt its ability to plan and execute attacks against the United States and its partners.
The command also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting allied nations through the deployment of specialised military capabilities aimed at tackling shared security threats.
The latest operation follows a recent announcement by former U.S. President Donald Trump that American and Nigerian forces carried out a joint mission that eliminated a senior ISIS figure, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, described as the group’s second-in-command globally.
Military authorities say the renewed strikes signal an escalation in coordinated efforts to degrade ISIS influence in the region.
