A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Aisha Yesufu, has mocked Vice President Kashim Shettima following a viral video showing him running towards the podium at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Cross River State.

The video, recorded on Monday at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, showed Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, sprinting towards the stage.
Shettima also displayed his signature dance moves upon reaching the podium, with Yilwatda joining him.
Reacting to the footage, Yesufu, in a post on her official X account, suggested that Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, had challenged politicians to demonstrate their physical fitness.
“Peter Obi don give Nigerian politicians assignments,” she wrote.
Her reaction followed recent political comments questioning the physical fitness of presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
Similarly, social media influencer Shehu Gazali Sadiq criticized the APC rally, describing the atmosphere as dull and questioning the party’s chances in the January 16 election.
He also mocked Shettima’s sprint, suggesting it was intended to demonstrate President Bola Tinubu’s fitness to govern.
The Cross River rally was part of the APC’s nationwide campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general election.
