Toluwanisings’ Widow Agrees to Home Burial After Family Dispute

The widow of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has reportedly agreed to have him buried at his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a disagreement with his family.

The development was disclosed on Sunday by the singer’s close associate and colleague, Lanre Alewilese, in an Instagram video.

Alewilese described the disagreement between Damilola Olayemi and her father-in-law as a misunderstanding, saying both parties had resolved their differences and agreed on a home burial.

The dispute began after the singer’s family alleged that the widow preferred a cemetery or church burial ground, while his father insisted that his son be buried at their Ibadan residence.

The disagreement sparked widespread reactions on social media, with some users criticizing the widow over her reported position.

However, Alewilese appealed to Nigerians to stop attacking her, describing her as a young woman going through a difficult period.

He also urged the public to respect the family’s decision and allow the widow to grieve in peace.

Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing at his residence in Ibadan. His family has also called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
