The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Sallau Inuwa, popularly known as Liman Katagum, for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death during an argument over car wash fees.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 22, 2026, at a car wash in Bauchi metropolis.
The police spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the disagreement over the amount charged per vehicle escalated when Inuwa allegedly stabbed the victim, identified as Ibrahim, several times with a knife.
Ibrahim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was confirmed dead.
Habib said officers attached to the ‘A’ Division launched a search after receiving a report of the incident. The suspect was later arrested at Mararraban Liman Katagum after police received information that he had fled to his paternal home.
The command said Inuwa was being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed concern over the incident and urged residents to resolve disagreements peacefully, warning that disputes should never lead to violence.
