Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, on Wednesday, swore in four Permanent Secretaries, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to a merit-based and professional civil service.

The appointees, Abdu Usman, Sani Suleiman, Shamsuddeen Yahaya Suleiman, and Hussaini Hamisu Yanduna, were selected through what the governor described as a transparent process based on competence and experience.
Speaking at the Government House in Katsina, Governor Radda urged the new officials to uphold integrity, accountability, and professionalism, noting that their appointments were earned through merit rather than connections.
He stressed that the oath of office represents a commitment to public service and charged them to justify the confidence placed in them.
Governor Radda also highlighted the administration’s focus on inclusivity, noting that the appointees were drawn from different local government areas. However, he expressed concern that some areas lacked qualified candidates due to gaps in capacity and experience.
The governor called on senior civil servants to mentor younger officers to strengthen the system and ensure continuity in reforms.
He reiterated his administration’s goal of building a civil service driven by performance, fairness, and equal opportunity, while also advancing institutional capacity and digital transformation across ministries and agencies.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries bring decades of experience across public administration, healthcare, and labor leadership.
