Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed grief over the death of former Minister of Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, who passed away on Thursday in Abuja after a brief illness.

In a statement, Radda described the late Sardaunan Sokoto as a distinguished public servant whose life was marked by integrity, patriotism, and service to the nation.
He praised Alhaji’s contributions as an accomplished economist and diplomat, noting that he served Nigeria with honor in several key national roles.
According to the governor, the late statesman’s commitment to nation-building and good governance left a lasting impact on both Sokoto State and the country at large.
Radda said Alhaji’s death creates a significant gap in Nigeria’s public life but added that his legacy of excellence and selfless leadership would continue to inspire future generations.
The governor extended condolences to the Sokoto State Government, the Sultan of Sokoto, the deceased’s family, and Nigerians, praying for Allah’s forgiveness and eternal rest for the late elder statesman.
